As part of the renovation measures, not only were the factory halls converted into modern offices and apartments, but the windows were also carefully renovated and renewed. The original metal windows, typical of industrial buildings since the 19th century, were fitted with modern insulated glazing to meet today's energy requirements.
As a glass refiner, our goal was to implement the specific requirements of the client. Particularly thin insulated glass with a narrow edge seal was used to maximize energy efficiency in the renovation of the historic building.
This special glazing technique not only offers effective thermal insulation but also helps to preserve the character of the historic buildings. The thin insulating glass panes were carefully adapted to the existing window frames and blend seamlessly into the overall appearance of the renovation.
This project impressively combines monument protection and modern construction technology. The renovated windows not only meet the current energy requirements but also contribute to preserving and protecting the historical substance of Eiswerder Island.
