The renowned architect Heinrich Hübsch (1795–1863) designed the impressive structure, which spans 90 meters. The open colonnade is supported by 16 Corinthian columns, and the façade is elegantly divided by arcades.
During the restoration, the glass was carefully selected and approved in close collaboration with the state monument office. After various sampling processes, a special laminated glass was chosen to preserve the historical character of the Trinkhalle while meeting modern safety standards.
The laminated glass used includes 2 mm Restover from Schott combined with TVG (partially tempered glass), a 1.52 mm foil, and another 2 mm float glass layer made of TVG. This glass solution combines the aesthetic demands of the historic architecture with modern safety standards to offer protection even in the event of potential vandalism.
The improved glass not only preserves the original style of the building but also adds additional protection against damage – a harmonious blend of tradition and safety.
